Zalando active customers hit record 63.2 million

Zalando’s active customer base rose to a record 63.2 million in the third quarter of 2026, while revenue and operating profit also increased, according to figures reported by ANP.

The German online retailer’s customer count grew 2.9 per cent year on year. Revenue rose by more than 5 per cent to €3.2 billion, gross merchandise volume — the value of goods sold through its platform — increased 7.5 per cent to €4.5 billion, and operating profit climbed 10.6 per cent to €107 million.

Zalando said growth was supported in part by expanding services for businesses and using artificial intelligence. Its Size & Fit tools aim to help customers choose the right products and sizes, while Zalando Extended adds products from other online retailers to its platform.

The company said its own AI agent is expected to be able to complete purchases for customers from 2027 without them leaving the Zalando app.

Zalando kept its annual outlook unchanged, after lowering its expectations in August. It expects revenue growth to be at the lower end of a 12 to 17 per cent range, and operating profit of €680 million to €720 million for the year.
