Ukraine has presented the United States and European allies with estimates of how much it will need in 2027 to continue fighting Russia, Ukrainian intelligence chief Rustem Umerov said after talks in Brussels. President Volodymyr Zelensky said discussions on security guarantees would continue in Brussels on Thursday. He said the guarantees would need to be strong enough to protect Ukraine after any peace agreement.
Zelensky also spoke separately with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and urged swift progress in negotiations to end the war.
US-mediated talks involving Ukraine and Russia are scheduled to begin in Abu Dhabi on 10 November and continue the following day. They are intended to resume a diplomatic process interrupted in February.
