Student and school-pupil unions in France are calling for universities and secondary schools to be blocked on Tuesday and Thursday, ahead of a demonstration planned for 5 November, according to French media cited by ANP.
A spokesperson for the Union Étudiante, quoted by BFMTV, urged people to join the coalition’s call for blockades. She said students would return to demonstrations on 5 November in response to a call by striking workers, and expected larger numbers at Thursday’s action.
Manon Moret, secretary-general of the student union UNEF, said the government had not yet given a concrete response to young people’s demands, BFMTV reported.
