Erling Haaland has taken Norwegian Air Shuttle to court over what his lawyer says was unauthorised use of his appearance to promote tickets during the World Cup. The airline confirmed that it had received a summons. [1]
Haaland’s lawyer, Thomas Hagen, told AFP that the case concerns the airline’s use of the footballer’s distinctive physical features. Norwegian posted a social-media montage showing a plane with a ponytail, alongside a caption saying it had never looked so Norwegian. The ponytail is thought to be the feature at issue. [1]
A Norwegian spokesperson described the posts as spontaneous messages of support for the national football team last summer and said the airline regretted that they had led to legal action. [1]
