A disciplinary process will follow an allegation made by Munster’s Gavin Coombes during Leinster’s win on Saturday.

Leinster and Ireland prop Tadhg Furlong has been cited over an alleged grab to Munster forward Gavin Coombes’s groin during Saturday’s United Rugby Championship match. The disciplinary case could affect his availability for Ireland’s November fixtures.
Coombes raised the allegation with referee Andrew Brace shortly before half-time in Leinster’s 24–18 win at the Aviva Stadium on 24 October. Television match official Colin Stanley could not find video evidence to substantiate it during the game. A URC statement published by The 42 says the later citing concerns an incident in the 37th minute.
Furlong has been cited under Law 9.27, which prohibits conduct contrary to the spirit of good sportsmanship, including grabbing, twisting or squeezing the genitals. The URC said arrangements for a disciplinary process were under way. The citing is not a finding that the alleged contact took place.
Furlong is in Ireland’s squad for November matches against Argentina, Fiji and South Africa. Whether the case affects his participation will depend on its outcome.
