A 38-year-old man has died after being attacked by a group armed with weapons outside a property in New Wortley, Leeds, prompting a murder investigation. West Yorkshire Police described the attack as “targeted and isolated”.
Police said the incident happened at about 22:25 BST on Saturday on Hedley Chase. Officers and paramedics treated the man at the scene, but he died a short time later.
Detective Chief Inspector Dan Bates said initial reports indicated that four people carried out a sustained attack. Police are working to identify those involved and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward. The victim’s family is being supported by specially trained officers, the force said.
