Margaret Qualley and Sabrina Carpenter have been cast in the forthcoming Fred Astaire biopic starring Tom Holland, Nieuws.nl reported on 25 September, citing The Hollywood Reporter. The additions come almost five years after Holland was announced in the lead role. [1]
Qualley will play Astaire’s older sister, Adele, while Carpenter takes the role of Ginger Rogers. Astaire and Rogers formed a long-running dance partnership and appeared together in multiple films. [1]
Paul King has been brought on to direct. In a statement quoted by Nieuws.nl, King said he could not imagine taking on the challenge of bringing these twentieth-century icons to life without Holland, Qualley and Carpenter alongside him. [1]
Carpenter, best known as a singer, has also appeared in Work It and The Hate U Give. Qualley’s screen credits include The Substance and The Dog Stars. [1]
