Aryna Sabalenka lost to American Ann Li in the second round of the Wuhan Open on Wednesday, going down 6-3, 4-6, 6-7 (5), according to ANP. The defeat was another early exit for the Belarusian, who is ranked No. 2 in the world. [1]
Sabalenka also fell in the third round of last week’s China Open, losing to Nikola Bartunkova. She has not won a tournament since March and lost the world No. 1 ranking to Elena Rybakina last month. Rybakina is absent from the Wuhan Open because of an injury, ANP reported. [1]
