York held off Wigan in a scoreless second half to win the Grand Final 8-6 and claim a record third Women’s Super League title.

York Valkyrie beat Wigan Warriors 8-6 at the Brick Community Stadium to win the Women’s Super League Grand Final. York, who also won in 2023 and 2024, are the first club to take the title three times. [1]
Sinead Peach scored York’s try in the ninth minute and Ellie Williamson kicked two goals. Mia-Jayne Atherton scored Wigan’s try in the 18th minute, with Rowe adding the goal. York led 8-6 at half-time, and neither side scored after the break. [1]
Wigan had Atherton and Eva Hunter sent to the sin-bin in the first half. Williamson kicked a penalty after Atherton’s involvement in a tackle with Bethan Dainton on Jas Bell. [1]
York played without Tara Jane Stanley because of concussion and spent much of the second half defending their lead. Lisa Parker, playing with a broken hand, made 47 tackles. [1]
