The second series of The Celebrity Traitors is due to begin on BBC One and iPlayer on Thursday, 1 October. Claudia Winkleman will host 21 celebrities competing for a £100,000 prize for the winner’s chosen charity. [1]
The cast includes comedians James Acaster, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, as well as actor Miranda Hart. BBC News groups Michael Sheen, Richard E. Grant, Jerry Hall, Maya Jama, Amol Rajan, Ross Kemp and James Blunt as its pre-series “big dogs”. [1]
Its “dark horses” are Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Bella Ramsey, King Kenny and Hannah Fry. Myha’la, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Sharon Rooney and Sebastian Croft complete the cast. The “big dog” label recalls a theory proposed by former contestant Joe Marler in the previous series: he thought a particularly famous player would be chosen as a traitor. He suspected Stephen Fry incorrectly and Jonathan Ross correctly. [1]
Ahead of the series, Bella Ramsey said they planned to keep their opinions to themselves until the right moment, while Myha’la said she wanted to be a traitor. The cast’s game roles have yet to be revealed. [1]
