Polish professional football matches are due to go ahead on Sunday despite a period of national mourning after a deadly shooting in central Kraków, with clubs asked to observe a minute’s silence and avoid music and entertainment in stadiums.
The Polish Football Association (PZPN) said the fixtures would be played “in a manner appropriate to the gravity of the situation”. It asked spectators to behave with dignity and respect and follow instructions from security staff.
Wisła Kraków, which plays in Poland’s top division, is not scheduled to play on Sunday. The club had played on Friday, the day before a man opened fire from a car on people in the city’s central square, according to the report.
