Olaf Sleijpen made the remarks at the Sustainable Finance Gipfel in Frankfurt on 1 October. He spoke as chair of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS), a network of central banks and financial supervisors, and is also president of De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). [1] [2]
DNB said Sleijpen argued that climate change’s economic impact can be seen, felt and measured. He described recognising that impact as a matter of reality rather than ideology. [1]
The event organiser scheduled Sleijpen’s keynote as a perspective from the network of central banks and supervisors on greening the financial system. [2]
