Spotify says Taylor Swift and her new song “Patient Zero” each topped a single-day streaming ranking for female artists in 2026.

Spotify said Swift was streamed more on Friday, 25 September, than any other female artist had been on a single day in 2026. It also named “Patient Zero” the most-streamed song by a female artist in one day this year. Nieuws.nl reported the platform’s announcement on Instagram. Both rankings are for 2026, rather than all-time records. [1]
The song is one of four new tracks on *The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore*, which Swift released on Friday as a new edition of *The Life of a Showgirl*. The others are “Cleveland!”, “Pink Clouding” and “Babylon”. [1]
Swift said the songs grew out of a visit to Sweden with producers Max Martin and Shellback. They had planned to celebrate the earlier album, she said, but ended up writing more music together. [1]
