The Dutch national average recommended price for Euro95 petrol stood at a record €2.727 a litre on 25 September 2026, UnitedConsumers said. It is the highest figure in the price tracker’s daily series, which began on 7 November 2000. [1]
UnitedConsumers calculates the benchmark each day using the recommended prices of the largest oil companies. It is a guide to pricing, rather than an average of what motorists actually pay at filling stations. [1]
The figures differ on the day’s movement. UnitedConsumers’ table shows no change from the previous day, while news publisher Upday reported an increase of 1.5 cents a litre. [1] [2]
Upday attributed recent oil-price rises to continuing tensions in the Middle East and linked those increases to higher petrol prices. [2]
Individual filling stations can set prices below the recommended figure, so the record does not mean motorists face the same charge wherever they fill up. [2]
