Ismael Saibari will be out of action for Bayern Munich after undergoing successful surgery on his right ankle, the German club announced on Sunday. The 25-year-old midfielder was injured during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund and went off before the half-hour mark.
Bayern also lost Serge Gnabry to a hamstring injury in the match. The club said he would be unavailable for the time being, but gave no return date for either player.
Saibari, a Morocco international and former PSV player, is in his first season at Bayern. He has made 13 appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists. He and Gnabry both went off injured in the first half of the Dortmund match, which ended in a draw after a late equaliser.
