Lionel Messi has completed a takeover of CD Eldense after buying shares from a Colombian investment group that previously held a majority stake in the Spanish club. Eldense said in a statement quoted by ANP/RTR that the Inter Miami player had taken over the club. [1]
Eldense are based in Elda, near Alicante, and play in the Segunda División, Spain’s second tier. The club said its ambition under the new ownership is to consolidate its position and grow in professional football. [1]
ANP/RTR also reported that Messi bought UE Cornellà, a Spanish fifth-tier club near Barcelona, earlier in 2026. [1]
