Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has extended its record at No 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 to 25 weeks, according to a report published by Nieuws.nl on Monday.
The country song was back at the top of the chart this week, adding another week to its previous record. Langley overtook Mariah Carey in September: Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” had held the record with 22 weeks at No 1.
Carey could climb the rankings again towards the end of the year, when her Christmas song typically returns to No 1 for one or more weeks, Nieuws.nl reported. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey and “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus are next on the list, with 19 weeks each.
Langley marked the first anniversary of “Choosin’ Texas” in a previous report, thanking fans and the people who helped make the song.
