The Popinjay Cavalier is planned for a March 2027 opening in London, with Tarantino also set to direct.
Sacha Baron Cohen is set to star in *The Popinjay Cavalier*, a new West End play written by Quentin Tarantino, who is also expected to direct it. It will be the filmmaker’s first play written for the stage, BBC News reports. [1]
BBC News reports that the play, set in 1830s Europe, is due to open at London’s Phoenix Theatre on 18 March 2027, with tickets starting at £25. The BBC also reports that Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sonia Friedman Productions are set to co-produce it. [1]
Baron Cohen said he was “beyond delighted” to work with Tarantino, adding: “When the best director in the world calls, you don’t ask questions.” The full cast is expected to be announced later. [1]
