Curaçao’s 2026 World Cup campaign generated an estimated 29.5 billion online views worldwide, according to a report by the island’s tourism board. The figure covers the team’s qualification in November 2025 and its group-stage matches in June 2026.
The Blue Wave Impact Report 2026, published by the Curaçao Tourist Board, also counted more than 30,400 articles and broadcast items in international media. The official tourism website, curacao.com, attracted nearly four million visitors, while Google Search recorded 83.5 million unique searches related to Curaçao, the report said.
Brazil showed the strongest interest, according to the report, with the United States, Argentina, Peru and Chile also among the countries where attention was high. Broadcasters including the BBC, NBC and the Netherlands’ NOS reported live from the Blue Wave Village in Houston during the tournament. Sports Illustrated, Telemundo and ESPN Brasil sent media representatives to the island.
The figures are estimates reported by the tourism board; the article does not define how it counted a “view”.
