Strong westerly winds have led to dozens of cancellations at Schiphol, with KLM, easyJet and Lufthansa among the airlines affected.
Review information is loading.
Dozens of flights from Amsterdam Schiphol were cancelled on Sunday as strong westerly winds restricted the airport’s runway capacity, disrupting services operated by KLM, easyJet and Lufthansa.
A Schiphol spokesperson said not all runways were available, limiting the number of aircraft able to take off and land. Airlines adjusted their schedules in response, the spokesperson said, and passengers were warned to expect cancellations and delays. Schiphol advised travellers to get flight information directly from their airline.
KLM had also cancelled dozens of flights on Friday and Saturday because of strong winds in the Netherlands, according to the report.
