Dutch prosecutors suspect Ehud T. of defrauding about 550 people of a total of €24 million through an investment-fraud network, the ANP news agency reported from the first preliminary hearing in Arnhem on 1 October. T. denied any criminal involvement. [1]
A prosecutor described the network’s digital infrastructure as more extensive and technically sophisticated than anything the prosecution had previously encountered in an investment-fraud case. T. said he had helped build the infrastructure used in the fraud, but maintained that someone else had committed the crimes. [1]
Dutch police said in July that investigators in a large investment-fraud inquiry had traced offices and suspects using financial and digital evidence, and had worked with hosting companies to take important parts of the network’s infrastructure offline. The police statement did not name T. [2]
