The Milwaukee Brewers have swept the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers out of the Major League Baseball play-offs, winning their best-of-seven semi-final series 4-0 to reach the World Series for the first time in 44 years, Nieuws.nl reports. [1]
Milwaukee won the fourth game 6-4 after falling 4-0 behind in the second inning. Shohei Ohtani hit a home run for Los Angeles and helped two team-mates score, but the Brewers fought back to seal the series. [1]
They will face either the Tampa Bay Rays or the Cleveland Guardians in the World Series. Their best-of-seven series will determine the other finalist. [1]
Brewers manager Pat Murphy praised his players after the win, saying: “They may have a lot of future Hall of Famers in their ranks, but we have a group of real fighters. And those fighters won this week.” [1]
