September 2026 was on course to be the sixth-warmest at De Bilt since records began in 1901, according to Weeronline figures reported by ANP. The average temperature was 16.8°C, compared with the normal 15°C. Only five Septembers in that period were warmer. The figures were published on the morning of 30 September, before the month had ended. [1]
De Bilt had recorded 20 days above 20°C, against the usual 13. On 29 September, the temperature reached 25.9°C, which Weeronline called the highest recorded for that date. Eindhoven reached 28.6°C, reported as a new national record for 29 September. [1]
Average rainfall was put at 66mm, 10mm below normal. Weeronline described the month as somewhat dry, though not exceptionally so, and said existing drought problems persisted. [1]
