Zelensky said in an interview with CNN Türk on Sunday that Ukraine was ready for a meeting in Turkey, according to a report by news agencies ANP and DPA carried by Dutch outlet Nieuws.nl.
He discussed the possibility of Turkish mediation in the war with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday, after arriving in Turkey. The two leaders also discussed a possible meeting involving the presidents of Ukraine, Russia and Turkey. Zelensky said Ukraine would welcome such a meeting and was willing to take part if Turkey could organise it.
Zelensky has repeatedly said he is willing to meet Putin personally. The Russian president, however, has said such a meeting must take place in Moscow, a condition Zelensky rejects.
