Arsenal moved to within three points of Premier League leaders Manchester City after Noni Madueke’s deflected late strike secured a 1-0 win away to Nottingham Forest on Sunday. [1]
Madueke, formerly of PSV, scored ten minutes from time to give the defending champions a narrow victory over Forest, who are 18th. Arsenal are second on 18 points, while Brighton & Hove Albion sit third on 16 after beating Crystal Palace 5-0 earlier in the day. [1]
Jurriën Timber came on midway through the second half in his 100th appearance for Arsenal and immediately created a chance for Declan Rice, who shot over. Madueke settled the match soon afterwards. [1]
Arsenal had beaten Lille 3-0 in the Champions League earlier in the week, with Timber among the scorers. Bayern Munich are their next opponents on Wednesday. [1]
