An NS spokesperson told Dutch news agency ANP that the tribute is appearing on screens on the platforms and in the central hall at Utrecht Centraal, as reported by Nieuws.nl. Cornelisse, a writer and comedian, died on Wednesday aged 50 from the effects of cancer. [1]
The display has white lettering on a black background, with a line from her book *De verwarde cavia - Terug op kantoor*. Translated from Dutch, it reads: “Few sentences are as reassuring as ‘NS is putting on buses’.” A drawing of a guinea pig appears beneath it. [1]
Cornelisse was nominated for the NS Publieksprijs three times and won it in 2025 for *De verwarde cavia - Terug op kantoor*. NS said the award reflected train travellers’ appreciation of her stories. [1]
