Country singer Zach Bryan says giving up alcohol has helped him rediscover his enjoyment of making music and writing songs. He spoke about the change in a video posted to his YouTube channel, according to Nieuws.nl. [1]
“I’m enjoying writing again. I haven’t had that feeling since I was 17. I feel like a kid again,” Bryan said. He added that he wakes up wanting to go out, jump in a pond, play with his dog and do everything.
Bryan said he had not realised he had a problem with alcohol until a motorbike trip with friends made him reflect on how much he was drinking. After the trip, he questioned whether it had been worth taking. He announced last year that he had stopped drinking and described sobriety as “really great”.
The 30-year-old is known for songs including “Something in the Orange” and “I Remember Everything”. Earlier this year, he performed at Eindhoven’s Philips Stadium as part of his With Heaven on Tour.
