Electricity-grid congestion is affecting Dutch housing developments that are nearly finished, as well as future housing projects. WoningBouwersNL warns that even newly built homes already on sale or sold can face delays in getting connected. [1]
The construction trade body says its members have reported problems involving several grid operators. Being placed on a priority list does not guarantee a connection, it says. [1]
Based on a survey of its members, WoningBouwersNL says builders expect grid congestion to cut housing construction output by 25% in 2027, with the projected decline rising towards 40% in 2028. [1]
