Oscar Piastri lost third place after a Turn 1 lock-up in Azerbaijan and finished without points. He is still trying to understand what caused it.

Piastri went straight on at Turn 1 during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix after locking his front wheels while defending third place from Isack Hadjar. He dropped to 15th and ended the race without points. [1]
Speaking to RacingNews365 and other reporters afterwards, Piastri said the lock-up had surprised him and that he needed to review the footage. He wondered whether taking a different line while defending had put him over a bump in the road, but did not identify a cause. [1]
Piastri said he had managed to get more from the car over the weekend and better understood the direction to take with his driving. That made the performance encouraging to him, despite the frustration of leaving with no points. [1]
