Lisa Nandy joined BT workers outside the Labour conference in Liverpool to protest against plans to shut the company’s Old Hall Street office and relocate about 600 jobs. The office is due to close in March 2027, when its lease expires. [1]
Nandy said she had discussed the proposal with BT and that the government wanted the jobs to stay in the Liverpool City Region. She also acknowledged what she described as significant cost pressures on the company. [1]
