Kremlev says Trump Jr repaid money spent on wedding present

Umar Kremlev, president of the International Boxing Association, said at a press conference in Istanbul on 6 October that Donald Trump Jr had repaid money he spent on a present connected to Trump Jr’s wedding celebrations. Kremlev said he had not thought repayment necessary. [2] [3]

Kremlev’s statement adds his account to an earlier repayment claim. On 18 September, President Donald Trump said he understood that his son had paid Kremlev back. Reuters also reported the president describing a plan to repay him. [7]

ProPublica reported that IB Challenger, an IBA-affiliated company in Dubai, paid hundreds of thousands of dollars towards the Bahamas celebrations, including a private island rental and fireworks. Kremlev’s press office said the boxing association itself had incurred no wedding expenses, but did not comment on payments by the Dubai company. [5]
