More than 14,000 homes are taking part in the Netherlands’ Open Huizen Dag on Saturday 3 October, up from just under 9,000 at the event in late March. Prospective buyers can visit participating properties between 11am and 3pm, ANP reported. [1]
Despite the increase in numbers, participating homes make up 14% of the more than 100,000 properties listed for sale through Funda, down from about 19% six months ago. ANP links the wider rise in homes for sale to landlords selling former rental properties. It also says higher mortgage interest rates are limiting how much buyers can borrow. [1]
NVM, the estate agents’ association behind the event, has not forecast Saturday’s turnout but hopes visitor numbers will rise. The March event drew 52,000 visitors, compared with 45,000 in October 2025. [1]
