Chelsea have not set a return date for captain Reece James after he underwent surgery for a knee injury sustained in training.
Review information is loading.
Chelsea captain Reece James has undergone surgery for a knee injury sustained in training, the club have announced. He is now beginning rehabilitation with Chelsea’s medical staff, but the club have given no timeframe for his return. [1]
The 26-year-old was injured before Chelsea’s 5-1 win over Bournemouth last weekend. The operation means he could miss upcoming fixtures against Everton, Tottenham and Manchester United, as well as a Carabao Cup trip to Liverpool; his availability for those matches has not been confirmed. [1]
James has had multiple injuries in recent seasons and withdrew from England duty during the latest international break. England are next scheduled to play in early November, against Croatia at Wembley. [1]
