The Wallabies held on in Perth as a late South African comeback cut their 25-point lead to four.

Australia beat South Africa 42–38 in Perth after four late yellow cards left the Wallabies with 11 players on the field. They had scored five tries and led 42–17 with 16 minutes remaining, with Max Jorgensen running the length of the pitch for one of their scores. [1]
Harry Wilson was sent to the sin bin in the 68th minute, followed by Ryan Lonergan in the 71st and Joseph-Aukuso Sua’ali’i in the 73rd. South Africa responded with a penalty try and a score from Morné van den Berg. An apparent Australia try by Tom Wright was then ruled out after a dangerous tackle in the build-up, and Hunter Paisami received Australia’s fourth yellow card in the 77th minute. [1]
Ox Nche scored again for South Africa to bring the visitors within four points, but Australia held on. BBC Sport said South Africa had made 13 changes to the side that beat New Zealand in Baltimore. [1]
