Google raised the price of its Pixel 10a by $100 to $599 on Friday, 2 October, ANP/Bloomberg reported. The move followed $100 increases announced the previous day for Samsung’s Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. The three Samsung phones now cost between $1,000 and $1,400. [1]
ANP/Bloomberg linked the increases to rising memory-chip costs, saying rapid growth in AI data centres has contributed to a chip shortage. [1]
Apple also raised MacBook and iPad prices earlier this year and cited higher memory-chip costs as the reason, the report said. [1]
