Tenways is buying Sparta from the administrators of bankrupt Accell, who say the brand will continue under its new owner. The price and any effect on jobs have not been disclosed.
The Sparta bicycle brand has been sold to Amsterdam-based e-bike company Tenways, the administrators of bankrupt manufacturer Accell say, in a deal they say will keep the brand in business. [1]
The sale includes Sparta’s trademark, related intellectual property and production documents for some of its models. The administrators ran a separate sale process for Sparta but have not disclosed the price or said what the deal means for jobs. [1]
They are continuing to sell Accell’s remaining assets, including the Raleigh and Carqon brands. Batavus, KOGA and Babboe were reported to be restarting under new ownership the previous week. [1]
