Police have been given an extra week to question two men arrested in an investigation into a suspected plot targeting Manchester’s Jewish community. The men, both in their 30s, can now be detained until 4 October, BBC News reported. [1]
Officers arrested the men on Newton Street in Manchester on 20 September under the Terrorism Act 2000. Warrants obtained on 22 September had allowed police to hold them until 27 September. Police say they believe the arrests disrupted a plot targeting the Jewish community in the Manchester area. [2] [4]
