A burst water pipe flooded roads around Southgate Roundabout in Crawley, West Sussex, on Sunday morning. Sussex Police described the leak as significant. [1]
Southern Water said customers in Woolborough Road, Holmcroft, Southgate, Tilgate and Furnace Green had lost water or were experiencing low pressure. Southgate Avenue, Crawley Avenue and part of the A23 were closed, and police asked people to avoid the area while emergency services dealt with the flooding. [1]
Southern Water said its teams were working to repair the pipe and it was setting up bottled-water stations. Crawley’s County Mall shopping centre also temporarily closed because of the water outages. [1]
