Dutch flower and plant exports were worth nearly €5.6 billion in the first nine months of 2026, down 1.5% on the same period last year, according to the Association of Wholesalers in Floricultural Products (VGB). [1]
The VGB said exports fell in the Netherlands’ three biggest markets: Germany, the UK and France. Germany recorded the largest decline, at 2.1%.
VGB director Matthijs Mesken attributed weaker sales to falling consumer confidence and rising inflation in those countries. The association said the value of both cut flowers and plants lagged behind last year. Cut-flower exports were down by more than 2%, to €3.4 billion.
