Sanne Wevers says she is enjoying the small moments as she prepares for what she calls her final World Championships in Rotterdam. The 35-year-old Olympic beam champion looked sharp in podium training and hopes to reach the event final, according to ANP [1].
“I was happy with how things went today,” Wevers said. “We’re sharp. I was satisfied with my beam routine and I’m ready.”
Wevers returned to international competition at the European Championships in August, after not competing since the Paris Olympics. A fall there left her well short of the beam final, but she said the experience had helped her prepare for Rotterdam.
“It feels now as though that European Championships was necessary to be sharp here,” she said. “It’s good that I’ve had a major competition and haven’t come into this cold.”
