Carlos Alcaraz beat Alex de Minaur 6-1, 6-4 in the Vienna final to claim his fourth title of the season and his second since returning from a wrist injury, ANP reported. The world No 3 broke his Australian opponent in the 10th game of the second set to seal the win.
Alcaraz, who missed much of the season with the injury, won the ATP tournament in Tokyo in October. De Minaur, ranked 10th, had reached the Vienna final by beating Alexander Zverev, who has since become the new world No 1.
The win gave Alcaraz back-to-back tournament titles after his Tokyo victory.
