Leicester City have been drawn away to National League North side Oxford City in the first round of the 2026-27 FA Cup, giving the 2021 winners a sixth-tier opponent as they begin their campaign. [1]
It is Leicester’s first appearance at this stage since 2008. The club were relegated to League One for this season and, according to BBC Sport, were 14th after an inconsistent start when the draw was made. [1]
The tie is scheduled for the weekend of 7 November. Other notable match-ups include Peterborough United against Reading, where Posh manager Robbie Savage will face the side managed by his son Charlie, and eighth-tier AFC Rushden & Diamonds’ trip to League One Burton Albion. [1]
The draw featured 91 teams, with four reaching the first round proper for the first time. Bradford City, top of League One, will host National League North side Marine. [1]
