Dutch gambling regulator reprimands 711 over withdrawal rule, ANP reports

The Dutch gambling regulator has reprimanded online casino 711 for requiring some players to wager deposited money before withdrawing it, according to a report by the ANP news agency. The report does not say when the reprimand was issued or how many players were affected. [1]

The Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) received a report that such conditions applied to players who did not use a conventional bank account, ANP said. The regulator suggested 711 may have introduced the requirement to prevent money laundering. [1]

According to ANP, the Ksa says a wagering condition is allowed only in connection with an offered bonus and under strict conditions. Otherwise, deposited funds must be returned directly when a player asks to withdraw them. Anti-money-laundering checks can delay a payment, the regulator says, but any delay should be as short as possible and must not become a standing obstacle to withdrawal. Operators cannot require players to wager a deposit even once before paying it out. [1]

ANP reported that 711 took measures after speaking with the regulator. It did not specify what changed or whether any players experienced payout delays. [1]
