Inflation rose to 5.9% in Bonaire and 5.2% in Saba in the third quarter of 2026, while it eased to 4.5% in Sint Eustatius, according to provisional figures from Statistics Netherlands (CBS). The rates measure how much consumer prices increased compared with the same quarter a year earlier. [1]
Bonaire’s annual rate was up from 3.3% in the second quarter. Transport prices rose 5.8% over the quarter, with petrol up 13% and air fares up 8.9%. Electricity also rose by 15.2% compared with the previous quarter.
On Sint Eustatius, annual inflation fell from 5.2% to 4.5%. Prices overall rose 0.2% quarter on quarter, as electricity increased by 15.2% and clothing and footwear by 4.4%. Transport prices fell 7.1%, mainly because air fares declined, although petrol became 10.5% dearer.
Saba’s annual rate edged up from 5.0% to 5.2%, despite prices rising only 0.1% over the quarter. Clothing and footwear became more expensive, while transport and water prices fell. Electricity prices were unchanged; CBS says a new subsidy scheme kept them level.
CBS said the third-quarter figures are provisional and will be finalised when it publishes data for the fourth quarter of 2026. [1]
