A 12-year-old girl was fatally shot in Baltimore on Saturday evening during what police described as an argument over a parking space. She was pronounced dead in hospital. [1]
Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley said two men opened fire on each other in a park where children were playing American football. He said the girl was caught in the crossfire and was not the intended target. Police have not named her. [1]
A woman was found with gunshot wounds, while two men went to hospitals with injuries police believed were connected to the shooting. Worley said all three had non-life-threatening injuries. [1]
As of the BBC’s report on 4 October, no arrests had been made and police were looking for at least two suspects. Officers appealed for witnesses, while Worley said it remained unclear how many shots had been fired. [1]
