Former FC Groningen director Hans Nijland is moving into speed skating as a commercial adviser to Team X2O Badkamers.

Hans Nijland, 66, will help Team X2O Badkamers attract new sponsors as part of his commercial advisory role. The Dutch speed-skating team was known as Team IKO-X2O last season. [1]
Nijland spent more than two decades at FC Groningen. He joined the football club as commercial manager in 1996 and left as director in 2019. [1]
In comments conveyed through the team, Nijland said its personal approach appealed to him. He also said years of working with Marianne Timmer had given him an affinity with speed skating. [1]
