France’s digital affairs minister has urged online marketplaces to remove listings for goods believed to have been stolen during a weekend of rioting, after screenshots of the adverts spread on social media. [1]
Anne Le Hénanff said on X that some platforms were offering stolen goods from the weekend and called for the relevant listings to be taken down without delay. The report did not establish that every item shown in the screenshots had been stolen.
Vinted said it had noticed more suspected stolen goods on its platform on Monday and had removed the products. French authorities said more than 3,000 shops were damaged during the unrest. [1]
