The Dutch government has launched a national campaign to help homeowners choose insulation measures as it works towards its 2030 housing target.

The campaign, called ‘Is jouw huis klaar voor de toekomst?’ (‘Is your home ready for the future?’), directs homeowners to verbeterjehuis.nl. There, they can look up insulation measures suited to their property, compare costs and possible savings, find information on grants and loans, and make a step-by-step plan. [1]
The government wants 2.5 million homes insulated by 2030, with particular attention to 1.5 million poorly insulated homes rated E, F or G. Citing Statistics Netherlands, it says more than 570,000 owner-occupied homes and homes in owners’ associations were insulated between 2022 and 2025. A broader count of 850,000 homes improved through support schemes also includes upgrades such as heat pumps, including in rented homes. [1]
The government says more than €4 billion is available for its National Insulation Programme, with an additional €300 million allocated in spring 2026. It also aims to insulate one million rental homes. Forthcoming standards will require private landlords to improve rented homes with the poorest energy ratings. [1]
