Christina Applegate says her doctor has told her she does not have multiple sclerosis (MS), more than five years after she was diagnosed with the condition. But the actor says her symptoms continue and she is unsure what is causing them. [1]
Applegate shared the news on her podcast, *MeSsy*, saying her diagnosis had been reconsidered after her doctor stopped an infusion treatment and monitored her B-cell levels. Her doctor later told her: “Congratulations, you don’t have MS,” she recalled. Applegate said she was “not happy at all” with the news. [1]
She said the symptoms that had affected her daily life and mobility had not gone away and that she felt she was “back at square one”. Applegate said she had become uncertain about the cause of her symptoms and that her doctors would investigate what had been happening since 2021. [1]
The podcast’s two-part episode, “Christina Is Back”, features Applegate returning after a break, with neurologist Dr Marwa Kaisey joining the second instalment. [2]
Applegate announced her MS diagnosis in 2021 and has spoken publicly about living with symptoms. Her latest account is that her doctor has withdrawn that diagnosis; it does not resolve what is behind her continuing symptoms. [1]
