Editorial illustrationOfficial results show Trump lost the 2020 presidential election. His claim to three election wins appears in a post saying he thinks Fox gives Democrats more airtime than pro-Republican voices.

In a Truth Social post on 30 September 2026, President Donald Trump named Democratic leaders Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries alongside Fox commentator Jessica Tarlov. He said he thought Democrats received more airtime than pro-Republican voices and complained that criticism of him was followed by only a “quick retort”. He also predicted that MAGA supporters and “REAL Patriots” would never like Fox. The post specified no programmes, period or airtime totals for the comparison. [1]
Trump also wrote that he had won “all three Elections”. He did not name the contests, but if he meant the presidential elections of 2016, 2020 and 2024, the National Archives records wins for him in 2016 and 2024, and a win for Joe Biden in 2020 by 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232. Congressional objections to electoral votes from Arizona and Pennsylvania were not upheld. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Tarlov is a rotating co-host of Fox’s *The Five*, rather than simply an invited guest. In an interview with Mediaite published on 16 September, two weeks before Trump’s post, she said Trump had been duly elected to his current presidency and argued that Democrats should appear on Fox. She also said she was often interrupted on air. [5] [9]
A study of 2010–21 footage found the Fox programmes it examined were, on average, more conservative than those on CNN and MSNBC; it measured on-screen visibility and excluded anchors. Another study of 2019–22 coverage interpreted Fox’s frequent mentions of prominent Democratic House members as treating them as political foils. Being discussed on air is not the same as being given time to speak. [7] [8]

In a March 2025 Pew survey, 56% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents said they trusted Fox as a news source, while 21% distrusted it. Those respondents are not the same defined group as the supporters Trump called MAGA and “REAL Patriots”. [6]
